Wilma contacted Legal Aid for assistance regarding her rental home. Her basement flooded, her bedroom ceiling was collapsing due to leaks in the roof, cabinet doors often fell off in the kitchen and hit Wilma in the head, and the windows did not properly seal.

Legal Aid contacted Wilma’s landlord and informed him of all the repairs needed to the home. Further, Legal Aid informed him that failure to make the needed repairs would result in a breach of the lease on his part, and that Wilma would move out in order to find secure and sanitary housing.

Wilma’s landlord made all requested repairs. Wilma was happy with his work and was able to stay in the home.
