Members of the Consumer Protection Unit work on behalf of clients to assist them with the SAFHR application process and other general mortgage assistance.
State Assistance for Housing Relief (SAFHR) is a Missouri program that provides emergency mortgage assistance for those who have experienced a hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Certain qualifications must be met for SAFHR to assist related to, financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic, homeowner’s intent, and location of the property. SAFHR specifically assists with past due payments, deferred payments, and three-month forward payment assistance. For forward-payment assistance, if an individual is unemployed, underemployed, or experiencing a hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and is approved SAFHR is willing to assist with three months of future mortgage payments
If an individual qualifies and is approved, SAFHR is willing to provide the funds owed to your mortgage servicer up to $50,000 (not including forward-payment assistance).. As of June 2023, Individuals can apply for SAFHR more than once, so even if you have previously been approved, if you need assistance, you can apply again.
We can assist individuals with completing the SAFHR application and working with SAFHR on their behalf.
