We feel safer when we think domestic violence happens somewhere else to someone else. In reality, domestic violence affects people from all walks of life and is present in every community. Anyone can be a victim of domestic violence, regardless of race, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or economic status.
WHAT IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE?
Domestic violence is the use of power and control over one individual by someone who is supposed to care about her or him. Domestic violence is not only just physical, but can also be emotional and psychological abuse and include behaviors such as stalking and isolation of friends and family.
