Most of what Legal Aid does, happens behind the scenes – in courtrooms, small offices, and meeting spaces – but the impact of our work can be felt across our region. Joe Dandurand has been at the helm of Legal Aid of Western Missouri for just 3 years, and is passionate about sharing why he took on this role after an outstanding judicial career. He feels that everyone needs to hear the true stories about real people who would face the civil legal system empty-handed, if it wasn’t for the work of Legal Aid staff and volunteers, and the support of the community.
In his presentation “The Other Side: Kansas City Stories You (Probably) Don’t Know”, Joe explains how Legal Aid is critical to the security, well-being, and growth of our communities, and can share powerful client testimonies that audiences can relate to. Because once you understand the impact of our work, we know you will want to join us in the fight to bring justice for all.
