What is the Generous Associates Drive?

The Generous Associates Drive is a month-long fundraising competition benefitting the clients of Legal Aid of Western Missouri. Each participating law firm selects a Generous Associates Drive captain. The captain rallies their coworkers to make individual donations to Legal Aid. All donations count toward their firm total. Firms that reach certain benchmarks will receive recognition at Legal Aid’s Party with a Purpose at Boulevard Brewery. The Generous Associates Drive runs from September 15, 2021, through October 15, 2021.

 

Why should I donate?

Legal Aid of Western Missouri provides free civil legal aid to individuals and families who need it most but can afford it least. Unfortunately, funding limitations force Legal Aid to turn away more than half of the applicants who qualify for their free legal services. Every dollar raised through the Drive helps Legal Aid retain legal advocates who, in turn, help more individuals and families in our community.

• 1. Jane and her daughter escaped a dangerous and abusive situation. They can now rebuild and live a life free of violence.
  2. Marco can now live independently — and afford his health insurance.
  3. Barb called Legal Aid’s COVID hotline for help locating her federal stimulus payment and her tax refund.

 

What’s in it for my firm’s team?

1. 1. Anyone who donates will be invited to Legal Aid’s Party with a Purpose at Boulevard Brewery on November 4, 2021.
   2. Winning firms will be recognized at the Party with a Purpose.
   3. Bragging rights if your firm wins!
